How To Trick Your Partner Into Thinking You’re Amazing

I recently wrote about how I am going to start doing more little things for my OH to show how much I love him.

We are two weeks in now and what I have actually done is found a way to make him think I am doing more little things for him when in actual fact, I’m not.

It started one morning when we had run out of bread and milk meaning that he couldn’t have any breakfast, he had been up since 6am with our little girl so when I got up I offered to go to the shop for him. He thought that I was making the extra effort just to be nice but what I didn’t tell him was that I needed to pick something up from the post office.

Then I realised that I already do a lot of things for him, it’s just that he doesn’t notice because I don’t make a big deal about it. Well unless I am having a big strop about him leaving his socks on the bathroom floor. So now instead of moaning, I nicely ask him if he wants me to do it ‘FOR HIM’.

‘Would you like me to hang your washing out to dry?’

‘Would you like me to clean the bath out for you?’

Would you like me to carry your cup into the kitchen?’

This makes him aware of all the things I do for him without sounded like a nag.

You have to say it like you genuinely mean it though – no sarcasm!

After a day of someone offering to do everything for you, surely you are going to repay the favour?

Or at least start to realise how amazing that person is!

BUT….

  1. This is priceless I wish I had thought of this years ago. I don’t know if I could do it without the sarcasm, hubby would think I was being sarcastic anyway. I’ll give it a go all the same.

  2. Love it!!

  3. That is brilliant! Going to try this over the weekend.

  4. Oh, cunning, I like it!

  5. If he can’t hear me grit my teeth that counts doesn’t it? :)

  6. You are a genius! Possibly an evil genius, but still a genius!

  7. This is amazing! Well discovered, you’re a clever one!
